Some chemicals used in textile production can be harmful to humans and the environment. Their use is partly regulated by law and is also the focus of NGOs and consumer protection groups. To help you comply with international standards, legal requirements and individual customer requirements (RSL = Restricted Substance Lists), Hohenstein offers you a broad spectrum of chemical tests for the qualitative and quantitative determination of harmful substances in textiles.
The examinations can be carried out on raw, intermediate and end products at all processing stages of the textile production chain including leather products. The test output includes both the monitoring of legal compliance and the additional, neutral assessment of product safety. On the one hand, this serves the purpose of operational quality assurance and optimisation, while on the other hand it helps avoid product recalls.
Since 1992, the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, with its independent testing and certification system, has stood for safety along the entire textile chain and for effective consumer protection. Today, the label is found on millions of products and is based on an annually updated list of criteria, which includes more than 100 individual parameters.
