Creating new market opportunities with publicly funded projects.
Our interdisciplinary project teams are involved in a wide variety of publicly funded research projects. A key focus of these projects is to open up new areas of application and develop innovative product ideas for the optimization of textiles and clothing.
As an industry-focused research institute we place a strong emphasis on practical solutions. We transfer our knowledge to companies immediately so they can build on our research findings and derive innovations from them to create new market opportunities.
In particular, small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) that do not have their own research and development (R&D) departments can benefit from the results of our research work and collaborate with us to create targeted product developments (for instance, through the “Central SME Innovation Program” (ZIM)).
We are one of the leading institutes in the field of textile research in Germany and focus our energies on topics such as functionalization, product performance, bio-economy and environmental technologies.
