The Hohenstein Institute in Bönnigheim is offering a test to assess people's ability to perceive colour and check their colour vision. The test makes it possible to identify deficiencies in colour vision easily and effectively. The ability to distinguish colours accurately is of great importance, particularly for employees who are responsible for quality control. Prof. Dr Stefan Mecheels has been at the helm of the Hohenstein Institute research and service centre since 1995. On 9 December 2011, Prof. Stefan Mecheels, Head of the Hohenstein Institute, opened the new test laboratory at the International Textile Testing and Service Centre in Hong Kong. In the summer of last year, 20 people who suffer from an allergy to house dust were provided with a new anti-dust mite mattress free of charge by the Hohenstein Institute in Bönnigheim and the bed manufacturer Gailing in Ludwigsburg Mitte. On several occasions during the 18-month field trial, the team led by Prof. Dirk Höfer will examine the level of contamination by allergenic dust mite excrement in the mattress, in order to establish whether its special design is effective in real-life conditions.  More...
