A large number of products, which are now taken for granted as part of everyday life, have their roots at the Hohenstein Institute or were developed and optimised by our researchers.

It is the research and development work of our scientists which made the resounding success of functional textiles or textile membranes possible, for example.

Our broad expertise is our recipe for success in both publicly funded research projects as well as in development work on behalf of our customers. Our cooperation with researchers from various scientific disciplines enables us to develop ideas for new types of products or innovative applications and procedures openly and without being blinkered.

In our think-tank, textile engineers, medics, human biologists, physicists and numerous other specialists work together as an interdisciplinary team to find the optimal solution to your problem.

When developing and optimising products, you can also benefit from our involvement in numerous (inter)national interdisciplinary research circles.

Not least, our specialists derive their own product ideas from their day-to-day work, and we are constantly on the look out for industrial partners to develop these into market-ready products.
