Four institutes under a single roof
The Hohenstein Institute was founded in 1946 as an independent, family-run research and teaching institute for the textile and clothing industry and commercial textile care. Today the testing and research centre is under the leadership of Prof. Stefan Mecheels, the third generation of the family to run the business. In order to accommodate the around 340 staff at the company headquarters in Bönnigheim, the castle has been extended by nine additional buildings to date.
Four independent organisations operate on behalf of their clients under the umbrella of the Hohenstein Institute:

| The Hohenstein Academy e.V. offers basic and advanced training programmes, workshops and conferences for the entire textile and clothing industry and related sectors of the economy. |
